Rob’s love of the outdoors developed while growing up on the west coast in North and West Vancouver where camping, climbing, kayaking, skiing, diving, hiking and biking were common year round activities.  He added travel to these pursuits in far flung areas during the summer months.

 

Rob translated these passions into a diverse career involving management responsibilities in distribution and manufacturing, specializing in sales and marketing.  Rob’s career began with a marine focus including experience as a marine mammal trainer at the Vancouver aquarium and deck hand with the Norwegian merchant marine.  Moving into business Rob applied that background in search and rescue product sales, outdoor recreation equipment sales and development of a specialty wetsuit manufacturing business.  While his business experience has capitalized on his love of the west coast with business enterprises in Vancouver [SCUBA diving division of Fitzwright Group] and Victoria [White’s Diving], opportunity has also taken him to the east coast of the United States [Dacor Diving, a division of Head, USA].

 

Most recently Rob has formed his own company, Carpe Diem – Creative Business Development, providing consulting services for small ethically minded companies.  He lives in Victoria with his wife Laurie.  They have three grown children.
