our work
The Kesho Trust works with a wide range of stakeholders to find strategies that will achieve beneficial changes in conservation policy and practice. We provide a facilitating and capacity building role, helping to link community and conservation needs through proven innovations and solutions as well as with training and mentoring. We also help communities maximize economic development opportunities and conservation livelihood benefits. And we promote public awareness and understanding of the positive relationship between quality of life and natural environments.

The Kesho Trust works with protected areas agencies that are committed to developing sound, integrated conservation management practices with local communities. We work with local community organizations committed to seeking new ways to improve living conditions based on conservation principles. We can also assist in the development and strengthening of such organizations when they are weak or just getting started.
Based on the areas of our previous work experience, the Kesho Trust operates in Canada [western provinces and northern territories] and internationally, in eastern and southern Africa.
