Victoria has a longstanding interest in and vast experience in the area of conservation and education. Originally trained in biology and zoology, Victoria then added an education element to her background with specific certification in both education administration and environmental education. For both certifications she attended universities in the UK, taking leave from her ongoing employment with the Ministry of Education where she worked both as a teacher and school inspector.

In the mid 1990’s Victoria took her skills into the field of international development where she worked in the bi-lateral donor community initially in the field of education and also on efforts at mainstreaming gender and environmental programming. As a program officer she worked with the full range of Tanzania’s Development Partners on the development and implementation of the Primary Education Development Program [PEDP]. Subsequently she became involved in and continues to champion the integration of the cross cutting themes of gender and environment into government programming through her role as Program Officer.

Victoria has also conducted evaluations for various international development projects for organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund and USAID. She belongs to a variety of professional organizations and serves in a volunteer capacity on the executive of the Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania (WCST) including serving as chair of the Education sub-committee.  Victoria has recently retired but continues to be involved in consulting work that utilizes her vast experience.
