Indigenous Knowledge Bridging of Land and Water

Governance in Tanzania and Canada (IKG)

This project is building relationships and sharing knowledge among Canadian First Nations and Maasai communities in Tanzania with a focus on the roles, mechanisms and importance of traditional knowledge in the management of natural resources.  The project is led by the University of Victoria (UVic) with support from the Kesho Trust.

Partnership Development Grant

  • a partnership development grant is the second stage of the three stages of potential funding with the Connections Program
  • our project team completed a successful Connections Grant (the first stage of funding within this program) – see details of the Connections Grant
  • within this grant phase we will be developing a submission for the thirds and final funding stage – the Partnership Grant

Timeframe

  • acceptance of the proposal was received on April 1, 2021
  • the award is for the period of March 22, 2021 to March 21, 2023
