Azaria Kilimba is a conservation professional based in Arusha, Tanzania. He holds a degree from Sokoine University of Agriculture and a Certificate in the IEP Completion Program (2019–2020) from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. With over a decade of experience, Azaria has worked with leading conservation organizations, including WWF, Enabel, and the Mpingo Conservation & Development Initiative (MCDI), where he contributed to forest programs, natural resource management, and participatory forest management in the Ruvuma Landscape.
He currently serves as Operations Manager at Carbon Tanzania, where he focuses on scaling investment in community forest conservation. His work ensures that forest communities are fairly compensated for their stewardship while supporting smooth project operations and certification processes.
As a Board Member of the Kesho Trust, Azaria contributes his extensive expertise in forestry, natural resource management, and communitybased conservation to strengthen the organization’s mission. His experience working with international NGOs and local initiatives equips him with a deep understanding of both policy and grassroots realities, enabling him to guide programs that balance conservation with community development. Drawing on his leadership at Carbon Tanzania and past roles with WWF, Enabel, and MCDI, Azaria adds strategic value in scaling sustainable forest management, fostering partnerships, and ensuring that Kesho Trust’s initiatives are both impactful and inclusive.
